Clarins Double Serum

Tally Ho product junkies!

This weeks blog will be featuring a special lady. Fran’s mum! She has been busy putting Clarins Double Serum to the test…so listen up!

‘Hi all. My name is Bernice and I am 68 years old. My skin has always been quite good but as I’ve got older it has become quite dry and lost its elasticity. I often get dry flaky patches around my nose and as I live in Spain, the problem has become acute with the dry hot weather. I also suffer with redness, especially on my cheeks. MadeUp gave me a sample of Clarins Double Serum so I thought I would give it a try. It’s an anti ageing product claiming to even out skin tone and boost hydration as well as smooth wrinkles.

Over the years, I have always tried to look after my skin, cleansing morning and night and moisturising. I’ve used good creams, but never thought to add a serum into the mix. I was a quite sceptical at first as I thought it might be be oily, but in actual fact it’s quite the opposite. I used one pump every morning and evening before moisturising for 8 weeks and the results were very good. When I applied the product over my face and neck, it absorbed into my skin very well without leaving any residue. It’s fairly rich so a little goes a long way.

The plumpness has returned to my skin and it feels much more hydrated. The dry flaky patches have stopped and my skin feels so much fresher and brighter. I would definitely recommend it to all my friends. It’s quite expensive at Β£55 but my advice would be to get a sample from the Clarins counter to see if you like it as you will no doubt see and feel a difference only after a couple of days.’

Long Lasting Lippy

We all love a bit of lippy but how do you get it to stay on that bit longer? One glass of wine and it’s gone! As part of our back to basics series, Fran’s done a quick video to show you some handy tips, you’ll need:

– a lip brush
– a lip liner
– your favourite lipstick
– tissues
– pointed cotton buds (if you need to tidy up around the edges)

It might take you a bit longer to apply but using this method will really increase the longevity of your lippy, just make sure your lips are nicely moisturised first. If they’re a bit dry and flaky use a toothbrush to gently buff away the dry skin.

You can pick up a lip brush from Boots or Superdrug, one of my favourite lip brushes is from EstΓ©e Lauder as it’s quite flat so good for layering on the lipstick.

If you try this technique, tweet us your pics!
